第十一集：水晶鞋

In the morning, Cinderella listened to the stepsisters.
早上，灰姑娘听继姐妹们聊天。

They were still talking about the prince.
她们还在谈论王子。

"He's in love with that princess," Trudy said. "He's going to look for her."
"他爱上了那位公主。" 特鲁迪说，"他要去找她。"

Gert said it was terrible.
格特说这太糟糕了。

Cinderella brushed away some tears.
灰姑娘擦去了一些眼泪。

"The prince will never find me," she thought.
"王子永远找不到我。" 她想。

Later, the king's messenger came to town. He blew his trumpet.
后来，国王的信使来到了镇上，吹响了号角。

Stepmother and the stepsisters ran outside. Cinderella followed them.
继母和继姐妹们跑到外面，灰姑娘跟在她们后面。

"Hear this, ladies," the messenger said. "The prince found a glass shoe. Every fine lady must try it on. The prince will marry whoever it fits."
"听好了，女士们，" 信使说，"王子找到了一只水晶鞋，每一位淑女都必须试穿，谁能穿上，王子就娶谁。"

Gert grinned. "Maybe the shoe will fit me."
格特咧嘴笑了。"也许这只鞋适合我。"

"Or me," Trudy said.
"或者适合我。" 特鲁迪说。

Stepmother glared at them. "It will fit one of you."
继母瞪着她们。"它会适合你们中的一个。"

The messenger visited every home in town. Every lady tried on the glass shoe.
信使拜访了镇上的每一户人家，每一位女士都试穿了水晶鞋。

At last, the messenger reached Cinderella's house.
最后，信使来到了灰姑娘的家。

Cinderella was sweeping. First, Gert sat down.
灰姑娘正在扫地。首先，格特坐了下来。

She tried to push her foot into the shoe, but it didn't fit.
她试图把脚塞进鞋里，但不合适。

"Get up, Gert," stepmother said. "Now it's Trudy's turn."
"起来，格特。" 继母说，"现在轮到特鲁迪了。"

Trudy tried to push her foot into the shoe.
特鲁迪试图把脚塞进鞋里。

"It doesn't fit," she said sadly.
"不合适。" 她伤心地说。

Cinderella dropped her broom. "What about me?" she asked. "May I try on the shoe?"
灰姑娘放下了扫帚。"那我呢？" 她问，"我可以试穿这只鞋吗？"
