第十二集：从此幸福地生活

Stepmother laughed at Cinderella. "You?" she said. "It can't be your shoe. You did not go to the balls."
继母嘲笑灰姑娘。"你？" 她说，"不可能是你的鞋，你根本没去舞会。"

The messenger looked at Cinderella.
信使看着灰姑娘。

She was dressed in rags, but the messenger had orders from the prince: every lady must try on the shoe.
她穿着破布，但信使有王子的命令 —— 每一位女士都必须试穿这只鞋。

Cinderella took a deep breath.
灰姑娘深吸一口气。

Slowly, she slid her foot into the glass shoe.
她慢慢地把脚滑进水晶鞋。

Her stepsisters gasped. "It fits!"
她的继姐妹们倒吸一口气。"合适！"

The messenger blinked. "It's you!" he cried. "You are the princess!"
信使眨了眨眼。"是你！" 他喊道，"你就是那位公主！"

Stepmother stomped over to Cinderella. "Impossible!" she snapped. "You never left this house."
继母跺着脚走到灰姑娘面前。"不可能！" 她厉声说，"你从来没离开过这所房子。"

Cinderella reached into her pocket.
灰姑娘把手伸进口袋。

She took out the other shoe and put it on.
她拿出另一只鞋，穿上了。

Suddenly, her fairy godmother appeared.
突然，她的仙女教母出现了。

Godmother waved her wand. Cinderella was the beautiful princess again.
教母挥了挥魔杖，灰姑娘又变成了美丽的公主。

Gert and Trudy each gave a curtsy. "We are very sorry," they said.
格特和特鲁迪各自行了一个屈膝礼。"我们非常抱歉。" 她们说。

Stepmother folded her arms.
继母双臂交叉。

The messenger was smiling. "You must come with me. The prince will be so happy."
信使笑了。"你必须跟我走，王子一定会非常高兴的。"

Soon, Cinderella was back at the palace.
不久，灰姑娘回到了宫殿。

Three days later, she married the handsome prince.
三天后，她嫁给了英俊的王子。

Cinderella was really a princess now.
灰姑娘现在真的是一位公主了。

But she was still very kind, so Cinderella invited her stepsisters to live with her.
但她依然非常善良，所以灰姑娘邀请继姐妹们和她一起住。

She even invited stepmother, and they all lived happily ever after.
她甚至邀请了继母，从此她们都幸福地生活在一起。
