第一集：善良的女孩

Once upon a time, there was a very kind girl.
从前，有一个非常善良的女孩。

Her name was Ella.
她的名字叫艾拉。

She lived happily with her father.
她和父亲幸福地生活在一起。

Ella had fine clothes and jewelry.
艾拉有漂亮的衣服和珠宝。

She had a big room with a warm, cozy bed.
她有一个大房间，里面有一张温暖舒适的床。

And there was always plenty of food.
而且总是有充足的食物。

One day, Ella and her father were walking in town.
一天，艾拉和父亲在镇上散步。

Wonderful smells came from the bakery.
面包房里飘出诱人的香味。

"Let's get a treat," father said.
"我们去买点好吃的吧。" 父亲说。

Ella saw a young beggar sitting in the town square.
艾拉看到一个小乞丐坐在镇广场上。

"That poor boy," Ella said. "Father, can we please get something for him?"
"那个可怜的男孩，" 艾拉说，"爸爸，我们能给他买点东西吗？"

Father smiled warmly. "You are very kind, Ella."
父亲温暖地笑了。"你真善良，艾拉。"

Father bought some bread.
父亲买了一些面包。

Ella gave it to the boy.
艾拉把面包给了男孩。

"Thank you, miss," the boy said.
"谢谢你，小姐。" 男孩说。

A few days later, Ella saw father in the garden.
几天后，艾拉在花园里看到父亲。

"You look happy, father," she said.
"你看起来很高兴，爸爸。" 她说。

Father laughed. "I have exciting news. I met a lovely lady."
父亲笑了。"我有一个令人兴奋的消息。我遇到了一位可爱的女士。"

Father said, "We're going to get married."
父亲说："我们要结婚了。"

Ella gasped. "Father, I'm so happy for you."
艾拉倒吸一口气。"爸爸，我真为你高兴。"

A week later, father got married.
一周后，父亲结婚了。

Ella's new stepmother had two daughters.
艾拉的新继母有两个女儿。

The older daughter was tall and thin. The younger one was short and plump.
大女儿又高又瘦，小女儿又矮又胖。

"It's nice to meet you," Ella said.
"很高兴见到你们。" 艾拉说。

The two daughters smiled. So did their mother.
两个女儿笑了，她们的母亲也笑了。

But there was a nasty look in her eyes.
但她的眼神里透着一丝恶意。
