第九集：轻声歌唱

The next morning, Cinderella started her chores.
第二天早上，灰姑娘开始做家务。

Stepmother barked orders at her, but it didn't bother Cinderella today.
继母对她发号施令，但今天灰姑娘一点也不介意。

"Last night was lovely," she thought. "I wish every night was that wonderful."
"昨晚真美好。" 她想，"我希望每个夜晚都那么美好。"

Cinderella hummed as she swept the floor.
灰姑娘一边扫地一边哼着歌。

"Quiet down," stepmother snapped. "You're giving me a headache."
"安静点。" 继母厉声说，"你让我头疼。"

"Yes, stepmother," Cinderella said.
"是的，继母。" 灰姑娘说。

Cinderella worked quietly, but in her head she was still singing.
灰姑娘安静地干活，但脑子里还在唱歌。

Stepmother stomped around the room. "Why did that princess appear at the ball last night? She ruined everything."
继母在房间里跺着脚走来走去。"昨晚那个公主为什么会出现在舞会上？她毁了一切。"

Trudy said, "The prince never noticed me."
特鲁迪说："王子根本没注意到我。"

"The prince didn't notice me either," Gert said. "I must wear more jewels tonight."
"王子也没注意到我。" 格特说，"今晚我必须戴更多珠宝。"

Stepmother frowned. "Tonight, you both must look your best."
继母皱起眉头。"今晚，你们俩都必须打扮得漂漂亮亮的。"

Trudy and Gert spent all afternoon getting ready. Finally, they left for the ball.
特鲁迪和格特花了整个下午做准备，最后出发去舞会了。

Cinderella felt sad.
灰姑娘感到难过。

Then godmother appeared, ready to go to another ball.
然后教母出现了，准备带她去另一场舞会。

"Cinderella."
"灰姑娘。"

"Yes!" Cinderella cried.
"是的！" 灰姑娘喊道。

Her godmother waved her wand. "Zap."
她的教母挥了挥魔杖。"嗖。"

Once again, Cinderella wore the glass shoes.
灰姑娘又穿上了水晶鞋。

But tonight, she had a different gown.
但今晚，她穿了一件不同的礼服。

All night long, Cinderella danced with the Prince.
一整晚，灰姑娘都和王子跳舞。

"You look even more beautiful tonight," he said.
"你今晚看起来更美了。" 他说。

Cinderella closed her eyes. "I never want to leave," she whispered.
灰姑娘闭上了眼睛。"我永远不想离开。" 她低声说。

"Bong!" Just then, the clock struck 12:00 o'clock.
"当 ——" 就在这时，时钟敲响了十二点。
